What Is Cacao?
When we say “cacao,” we refer to the unprocessed paste of the cacao bean used to make chocolate. The difference is processing. The bitter beans are removed from the sweet outer fruit, toasted to remove the shell, and ground into a paste. This paste is then shipped as the final product, which you consume in food or as a drink. Cacao is the purest form of chocolate!
Internally, cacao has many health benefits. It is a natural superfood with loads of magnesium, amino acids, and antioxidants! But the biggest benefits are energetic. Cacao opens your heart and mind allowing you to access deep parts of yourself. This is how cacao creates harmony – by opening the heart, accessing deep within, and releasing inner pain and struggle. It accelerates healing, creativity, focus, and idea flow.
The biggest benefits of cacao come from drinking it daily. It is a natural replacement for coffee, giving you sustained energy and start to your day, without the jitters and crash. By drinking daily, you receive consistent energetic and health benefits, which give you deeper creativity and transformation.
How To Prepare Your Cacao
When you first receive your cacao it will be molded in a disc from the women in Guatemala. Simply use a knife to transform this into shavings and store them in an airtight container. The SMELL is divine!

My favorite way to prepare the cacao for daily drinking is by placing in the blender:
– 1 tablespoon Cacao
– 1 cup hot water
– Spices of choice (a dash of cinnamon, vanilla, cardamom, ginger, a couple of drops of essential oils, etc.)
– Sweetener (honey, maple syrup, agave, stevia – optional)
-Cayenne pepper may also be added for quicker absorption.
Blend and enjoy!
To purchase food-grade essential oils, visit Young Living. Not all essential oils are edible. The ones I mentioned in the video are. Please be careful which oils you purchase.
When traveling, a mini mixer works great to blend the cacao and hot water!
What Is The Ceremonial Cacao Difference?
Ceremonial Cacao is different from cacao powder you can buy in health food stores. To start, it is the whole bean, ground down into a paste. It includes the cacao butter, a healthy fat. Cacao powder has been separated from the butter, therefore only includes part of the food.
Ceremonial cacao has the energetic properties mentioned above, where cacao powder does not. Cacao powder has some of the superfood/health benefits, but it does not facilitate the heart-opening and healing properties you desire.
Ceremonial Cacao is minimally processed and infused with love. From the moment of inception, the cacao is grown with one purpose – to hold the energy of ceremony, healing, creativity, and focus.
When we consume cacao we are able to take in the entire plant in its purest form. Integrity is maintained for us to absorb all of the physical and spiritual benefits!
Our cacao is grown in an indigenous farm in Coban, Alta Verapaz, Guatemala and then transported to be processed into a paste. Each bean is carefully selected to ensure only the highest quality remains and then are sun-dried.
Our local Kaqchikel family of women gather to roast the beans over a wood fire, giving it a unique robust flavor. They sit together for hours to peel the beans while they infuse love and high energy into them.
This is the only indigenous women-run business in the community.
